Snowy, Tender Petersburg
A dialogue with my home city. Two words are hidden in the Russian title, and both are about how I feel it. Snowy means closed, secret: like a white field under which you cannot see what is happening. Petersburg is always like that, not only in winter — it does not reveal itself at once and does not let everyone in. And tender — because behind that closedness it is gentle with those who have learned to talk to it.
